Bone Durasein Solid Surface by DesignOneSource is a sophisticated and timeless architectural surfacing solution designed to bring a sense of warmth, balance, and high-performance durability to modern interior environments. As a premier selection within the globally recognized Durasein acrylic solid surface collection, Bone offers architects, interior designers, and custom fabricators a versatile, creamy neutral palette that serves as a softer, more inviting alternative to clinical whites. This engineered surface is meticulously crafted from a high-quality blend of two-thirds natural minerals and one-third high-performance acrylic resins, resulting in a non-porous, incredibly resilient material that meets the rigorous demands of both commercial and residential applications while maintaining a refined, high-end aesthetic.

The visual profile of Bone is defined by its smooth, consistent tonality and its subtle, warm undertones. In the world of contemporary interior design, Bone functions as a “bridge neutral,” capable of harmonizing with both cool-toned stone textures and warm woodgrain decors. It features a sophisticated alabaster-inspired hue that reacts beautifully to varying light conditions, creating a soft, diffused glow rather than a harsh reflection. This “organic-minimalist” aesthetic is particularly effective in residential kitchens, upscale hospitality bathrooms, and executive corporate environments where the goal is to create an atmosphere of quiet luxury and professional clarity. Because the color is homogeneous throughout the entire thickness of the material, Bone allows for a seamless, monolithic appearance that traditional laminates or natural stones cannot replicate. This consistency enables the creation of expansive, uninterrupted surfaces, such as large-scale reception desks or custom kitchen islands, where inconspicuous seams are required for a high-end, custom look.

Technical excellence is a defining hallmark of Bone Durasein. One of its most significant advantages is its complete non-porosity. Unlike natural stone, which requires periodic sealing to prevent staining and bacterial growth, Bone is naturally impervious to liquids, mold, and mildew. This makes it an exceptional specification for healthcare facilities, laboratories, and hospitality environments where hygiene and ease of maintenance are critical priorities. Furthermore, the material is thermoformable, meaning it can be heated and molded into complex curves, organic shapes, and coved backsplashes. This flexibility allows designers to push the boundaries of traditional surfacing, creating custom furniture and architectural elements that flow seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

Durability and longevity are built into every sheet of Bone Durasein. The material is highly resistant to impacts, scratches, and the daily wear and tear found in busy environments. Because it is a solid, homogeneous product, it is fully renewable; minor surface damage or scuffs can be professionally sanded and buffed back to their original factory luster. This renewability ensures a significantly longer lifecycle, making Bone a sustainable and cost-effective investment for long-term commercial installations. Additionally, it is NSF/ANSI 51 certified for food contact, making it as safe as it is stylish for culinary applications.

Sustainability and health are core pillars of the Durasein manufacturing process at DesignOneSource. Bone is GREENGUARD Gold certified, ensuring low VOC emissions and contributing to healthy indoor air quality for all occupants. The applications for this material are virtually limitless, ranging from elegant kitchen countertops and integrated vanity bowls to decorative feature walls and bespoke furniture pieces. When you specify Bone through DesignOneSource, you are choosing a product that masterfully bridges the gap between the soft beauty of the natural world and the uncompromising performance of modern material science.
