INSPIRATION

Stardust Walnut

Discover a celestial blend of natural warmth and contemporary refinement with Stardust Walnut, a standout prefinished wood veneer panel from the Shinnoki collection, available at Design One Source. Walnut has long been the gold standard for luxury interiors, but Stardust Walnut offers a visionary reimagining of this classic species. By applying a sophisticated, muted grey-brown stain to authentic walnut veneers, this decor achieves a “stardust” effect—neutralizing the traditional heavy red and orange undertones of raw walnut while allowing the wood’s iconic, swirling grain patterns to take center stage. The result is a palette that feels both ethereal and grounded, providing a high-end, modern aesthetic that complements everything from industrial lofts to sleek, minimalist penthouses.

The visual brilliance of Shinnoki Stardust Walnut is achieved through Decospan’s proprietary “mixmatch” technology. In traditional veneer manufacturing, panels are often “book-matched,” which can create a repetitive, mirrored “bar-code” effect that often looks artificial in large-scale architectural installations. Shinnoki panels, however, are created by randomly jointing veneers from different trees. This meticulous process ensures that the finished surface mimics the look of solid wood planks, offering a continuous and natural grain flow across your entire project. This architectural-grade consistency allows designers to specify real walnut for expansive wall cladding and long runs of cabinetry with the confidence that the color and texture will remain harmonious from the first panel to the last.

Designed for the efficiency demanded by the modern professional, Stardust Walnut is a “ready-to-use” solution that arrives at the project site completely prefinished. Every panel undergoes a rigorous industrial finishing process, featuring six layers of high-performance, UV-cured urethane lacquer. This factory finish achieves a refined 2% “Super Matt” sheen level, offering a soft, velvety touch that enhances the natural feel of the wood while eliminating the distracting glare associated with traditional high-gloss surfaces. Because the lacquering is performed in a controlled environment, the surface provides industrial-grade protection against micro-scratches, moisture, and household chemicals, far outperforming the durability and consistency of on-site staining and lacquering.

Sustainability and healthy indoor living are core pillars of the Shinnoki brand. Stardust Walnut is manufactured using FSC-certified wood, ensuring that the materials are sourced from responsibly managed forests. The veneer is bonded to a premium MDF core that is NAF (No Added Formaldehyde) and CARB II compliant, ensuring that your interiors remain safe and healthy for all occupants. This commitment to environmental stewardship makes Stardust Walnut a preferred choice for LEED-certified projects and health-conscious residential builds where indoor air quality is a top priority.

To facilitate a flawless and professional installation, Design One Source provides a comprehensive ecosystem of complementary products. This includes matching edge banding for a seamless transition from face to edge, as well as color-matched repair pens, markers, and laminates for curved applications. By specifying Shinnoki Stardust Walnut from Design One Source, you are choosing a material that defines the cutting edge of wood technology—combining the timeless prestige of real walnut with a contemporary aesthetic and the industrial durability required for today’s most demanding environments.
