Timber Products supplies the wood for the Final Four floors for both the men’s and women’s basketball March Madness tournaments. The wood becomes a whiter white when the leaves start to fall, so October is the best time to harvest hardwood maple to get the highest quality.

This same high-quality wood was also used to make the Pacific Northwest-inspired floor installed in Matthew Knight Arena. As a long-time supporter of the University of Oregon Ducks, Timber Products is honored to have provided the wood for their home basketball court. The floor is made out of 6,944 square feet of Timber Products’ Northern hard maple from an FSC®-certified forest, and 225 interlocking panels weighing approximately 45,000 total pounds. The floor made waves when it was first revealed in 2010, for the unique graphics that depict a forest of fir trees.
